Thanks for stopping by the archives of Andrew Horne’s 2006 congressional campaign website. Though not nearly as pretty as the original, we (the former staff, and Andrew) believe the old content should be preserved. Chuck and I will continue to make modifications and additions in hopes of returning it to its former glory. –Jason

Steph and I cannot say how thankful we are for the hard work and commitment of everyone who worked on the campaign. It has been inspiring and humbling.
But the fight is not over. For all the reasons that I first entered the race for Congress now is the time for all Democrats to come together for the Fall. Our country desperately needs a balanced voice in Congress and I encourage all my supporters to continue the work to defeat Anne Northup. Do not let the results on election day cool your enthusiasim. Take some time to recover and then continue the fight.
I congratulate John and everyone that worked on his campaign and offer whatever assistance I can provide to reach our mutual goal - to take back the House of Representatives.

Col. Andrew Horne
Welcome!
Thank you for visiting our website. I’m a husband, father and lawyer. I also served our country for 27 years in the Marine Corps and never before considered holding public office. But after my second tour of duty in Iraq, I found the stakes are too high to sit on the sidelines.
The Bush administration is not being fully honest with Americans about the situation in Iraq; therefore it’s my duty to speak out when our safety and future are at risk. Furthermore, Republicans in Congress, including Louisville’s Anne Northup, have given President Bush and corrupt “K Street” lobbyists a blank check and rubber stamp for their selfish agenda. President Bush and Republican leaders have taken us down the wrong path.
When I serve in Washington, I’ll have the courage to make my own decisions and address the real challenges facing American families, such as health care, education and the economic and retirement security we all deserve.
Here you’ll find more information about my campaign and background. I hope you’ll sign up for our e-news and, in turn, share with me your questions and concerns. Participatory Government is the right of every citizen.
I look forward to working with you for a better future!

Former Congressman Ward strongly backs Horne for Congress
as only candidate to take on Northup
(Louisville, Ky.) — Former Congressman Mike Ward today held a press
conference to endorse Andrew Horne in the Democratic primary election for
Congress to be held on May 16. Since Kentucky Derby activities are now over,
it’s time for Democrats to focus on who will best represent them as their
nominee in November.
“I’m for Andrew Horne because he can win the race against Congresswoman Anne
Northup, and he’s plenty liberal enough for me,” Ward said before cameras at
the Horne campaign headquarters.
Ward is the last Democrat to hold the 3rd Congressional District seat. He
said Democrats and many Republicans he’s talked to are disappointed with
Northup’s lack of independent leadership and rubber-stamp approval of George
Bush’s failed policies. They are ready for Horne to take up the fight.
“Andrew has shown the leadership needed to win against Anne Northup. He
stood up when others stood back,” noted Ward.
“Andrew has stood up to President Bush on the war. He stood up to Northup on
foreign operations of our ports. He stood up to Northup and Bush on health
care,” Ward said. “He will stand up for us in November.”
Horne said he was proud to have the endorsement of former Congressman Mike
Ward, a longtime public servant and community leader.
